More than 1,000 debt management and settlement companies upload debtor information to DSI’s centralized database daily. This data is securely maintained, continuously updated and archived. Hence, DSI’s database includes both active debtor arrangements and those debtors that have any history of DMP/DSA participation.
Within a controlled environment, financial institutions, credit companies, debt buyers, collection agencies and law firms can access this data and utilize DSI’s database to assist in:
- Analyzing debt portfolios
- Modeling purchases
- Developing segment strategies
- Assigning placement life cycles
- Determining contingency rates
Although potential applications are virtually unlimited, the primary function of DSI is to electronically identify settlement opportunities, those matches between creditors’ unpaid balances and debtors participating in DMP/DSA programs. This electronic identification eliminates the time and expense of manual reviews and ensures that no settlement opportunity will be missed.
DSI is the “collections bank” of the 21st century and from which numerous benefits may be withdrawn.
